Preparatory Course for IAB LCCI Level 1 Certificate in Bookkeeping (VRQ)

Overview:

The purpose of this introductory level course is to give students essential skills in, and knowledge of, double-entry bookkeeping.

This includes content on the following main functions:

• books of original entries
• the ability to maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions in an appropriate format using accounting record books (the ledgers)
• double-entry bookkeeping
• introduction to financial statements (without provisions for doubtful debts and only two methods of depreciation).

Successful completion in this course allows progression to the IAB LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounting (VRQ) and supports progression into the job market, for example, in a bookkeeping role within a large company’s finance department.
